003 – How Do I Use the Moodle Workplace Mobile App?

The Moodle Workplace mobile app allows you to access course materials, announcements, activities and notifications from a supported mobile device.

Download the app #

Download the free Moodle Workplace app from:

  • The Google Play Store for Android devices
  • The Apple App Store for iPhones and iPads

Ensure that you install Moodle Workplace, as other Moodle applications may also appear in the app store.

Connect to UTT Moodle #

  1. Open the Moodle Workplace app.
  2. When prompted to enter the site address, enter:

    https://utt.unhosting.site

  3. Select Connect to your site or the equivalent option displayed.
  4. Follow the login instructions provided.
  5. After successfully logging in, your available courses should appear on the app dashboard.

Selecting the correct Moodle environment #

UTT uses separate Moodle environments for academic courses and professional development activities.

  • Use Academic Moodle for undergraduate and postgraduate academic courses.
  • Use Professional Development Moodle (ProDev) for staff training, workshops and professional development courses.

Ensure that you are connecting to the correct environment for the course you are attempting to access.

What can I do in the app? #

Depending on how your course has been configured, you may be able to:

  • View course materials
  • Receive announcements and notifications
  • Participate in forums
  • Submit assignments
  • Complete selected activities
  • View grades and feedback
  • Download selected resources for offline access

Some activities and administrative functions may work better in a desktop web browser.

Unable to access your courses? #

Confirm that:

  • You are using the Moodle Workplace app.
  • You entered the correct UTT Moodle address.
  • You are using the correct login details.
  • You are accessing the correct Moodle environment.
  • The course is visible on your Moodle account.

If the issue continues, submit a request to Support TLIS and include your full name, UTT ID, course code, Moodle environment and a screenshot of the error message.
